TOM'S PICS

This butte is kind of out in the middle of nowhere, but I was working about 15 minutes away in Melba, ID, and I saw it in the distance. After my shoot, I just couldn't resist, and drove straight to it and began hiking. Just in my normal work clothes/shoes. 90+ degree day, no sunscreen, didn't take a bottle of water, whatever. I stay pretty hydrated on the regular. But man, hiking through the grasses and getting a bunch of crap in my shoes was annoying. I need to look into gaiters...

I realize now that I didn't get a photo of the butte itself from the starting point. I'll have to get one on my next visit—there are two sort of "prominences" to it, and I only hiked one, so I have to go back eventually and hike the other.

Also, I don't know why I edited one of the photos to be tilted... I just kinda felt like it. Not sure if I like it.
